Highlighted Achievements

Over the past 30 years I have worked for many different industries, completing a variety of projects from creating a manual for a social worker, publishing a cookbook, building five restaurants, re-branding a chocolate store, to bringing a dance studio to a new professional level.  In all of my positions I have increased their customer base or enrollment considerably in a short time frame.  Under a year, I was able to increase the enrollment for each of three businesses by over 350 participants, amounting to an increase in monthly revenue, brand recognition, and referrals.

I attribute these successes to my dedication to the consistent message and level of communication between all parties.  I have included some of the work I have completed to give you a sense of my creativity, story telling ability, multi-channel social media approach, consistency in message conveyed, and catering to the community or target market.

FLAIR DANCE ACADEMY: Convey consistent brand

When I began working for Flair they didn't have a database in place or consistent branding.  I created a weekly dance schedule using advanced Excel techniques to capture different levels using color coding to make it easier for families to view their child's level.  This schedule allowed for 69 weekly classes and accounted for nearly 1000 people each week.

The owner wished to combine three different types of registration discounts for each family.  The database system would only allow two types of discounts and they had to be consecutive rather than combined.  To remedy this situation, I created a registration sheet using Excel containing many complex formulas and v-lookups, like this one to properly calculate their tuition: =IF(ISERROR(SUM($H7- ((N7/100)*($H7*100))))," ",SUM($H7-((N7/100)*($H7*100)))).

GROOVES UNLIMITED DANCE STUDIO: Increase monthly revenue

I was tasked with organizing events to increase monthly revenue beyond the weekly dance classes.  I utilized down time in the studio to rent long-term and short-term space, host birthday parties and other seasonal events.  I hosted a holiday event with another organization to cut down on costs and utilize resources.  The holiday event flyer was used for social media and emailed to all families.

I set up a relationship with an external business to rent the studio space to host monthly Princess Parties.  I created this princess party flyer to attract new dancers using Instagram and Facebook.

COMPLEXITY DANCE STUDIO: Create a cohesive team and unify members

I volunteered to design an image for the team's national competition t-shirts.  This design utilized the studio's name by creating a word that conveyed the common goal or team effort - to be "one" as a team.  The shirt sold nearly 100 copies to the dancers and parents and created a cohesive, unified front during team events.

I was asked to run the events at the team's holiday party.  I hosted a gift exchange with nearly 100 children within two ages groups, as well as ornament creation, cupcake decoration, and a "dancer fun fact" game.  The fun fact game was another way for the team to learn more about each other and created a cohesive team unit.

ROBINSON'S CHOCOLATES: Change demographic of customers

This local chocolate and candy store had been in existence for over 35 years.  The owners wished to increase the customer base of younger shoppers.  By creating more eye catching ads, a newer slogan, and mouth watering photos I was able to introduce this older-style, conveyer belt store to a younger audience.  I also revamped the logo, modified the layout of the store, designed posters and signage and personally install flooring for a new coffee bar.

By enhancing the logo, rebranding the image and revamping the store I was able to capture the attention of women ages 25-45.  To hide the outdated store layout, and conceal the older carpet, I created large 20"x 30" posters using Adobe Photoshop Elements to draw your eye upwards. I took the pictures all their products, designed the posters, and printed them inexpensively at Sams Club.  The posters allowed the store to identify promotions, seasonal items and promote their new coffee bar.
